Dewheater strips

Heating strips are always produced on-demand - to match certain optics, heating demand and controller capabilities. Their sizes span from 100mm (∅30mm) to 1200mm (∅300mm).

We designed unique heating distribution sysyem, allowing for uniform heat transfer through bottom layer of the heater. All strips are equipped with RCA plug and 1.5m of cable (different specs on special order). Attachment is simplified by convenient velcro strip with elastic band.

Geared stepper motor - 28mm

Additional stepper motor offers torque of 0,034Nm, it has internal gearbox 1:64, provides 64 steps per revolution and works on 12V supply. Optionally - it may be equipped with limit switch and temperature sensor. Due to its limited torque, it is advisable to drive microtouch / feathertouch shaft of the focuser (geared further 1:10).

Geared stepper motor - 42mm

Additional stepper motor offers torque of 0,4Nm, it has internal gearbox 1:100, provides 48 steps per revolution and works on 12V supply. Optionally - it may be equipped with limit switch and temperature sensor. Torque is appropriate for direct drive systems - coupled to focuser main shaft or knob. It will also work perfectly when coupled to microtouch / feathertouch shaft.

Limit switch

Movement limiting switch is available as an option to the stepper motor, allowing control module to sense physical limits of the system. Such approach will protect the mechanics from stress and damage, once the high-torque stepper tries to rotate beyond safety limits. Safety switch shares the common connection with the stepper (pins 6-7 or 7-8, depending on the device). It will be recognized in MKFocus mark I and II, and MKFastronDrive.

Temperature sensor

External temperature sensor is available as an option to the stepper motor, allowing control module to precisely measure in-system temperature. It adds great accuracy in demanding systems - especially those optically fast and prone to thermal contraction (aluminum OTA). To serve the purpose, the sensor should be thermally coupled to the OTA. Accuracy - 0,0625°C, it shares common motor connection (pins 7-8-9). It will be recognized in MKFocus mark I and II, and MKAstroShooter (will override internal sensor).

Reduction rings

Coupling the stepper with target configuration is always produced on-demand. The connection may use the traditional elastic clutch (axis to axis connection), or custom machined reduction flange (stepper axis to knob). The latter does not require any modification to the focuser (stepper will drive the knob via plastic screws to avoid any surface damage). Please allow 2 weeks for delivery (requires custom machining).

Connecting cables

Connect the module with stepper motor at a convenient distance. They're available in following lengths:  1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 i 3m. Terminated with DB9 mating plug-socket pair.

Remote shutter release cables - for DSLR

Almost all digital cameras equipped with remote shooting port may be connected with MK-Astro products (MKAstroShooter and MKFastronDrive). Special cable is required, interconnecting modules output port (mini-jack) with proprietary camera socket. Length and connecting plug - on demand. May be delivered with or without manual release module.
